DeShawn Gatewood
Physical Therapy Aide
DeShawn played football since the age of 8 all the way up to college. After receiving a scholarship for athletics to a school in Oklahoma, he separated his shoulder and was sent to a Physical Therapist to begin rehabilitation. This is when he knew he wanted to help others the way they helped him. And thus, in 2012, he began his journey to become a Physical Therapist. He is in the process of earning his Bachelor of Science with an emphasis in Exercise Science and will graduate May 2018 from California State University Northridge. On top of this, he mentors a teen that has Muscular Dystrophy in his spare time. He will be in the process of applying to a Doctor of Physical Therapy program this fall and he will continue to strive for his passion of becoming a Doctor of Physical Therapy.
